Charters use a variety of SIS software. The majority use the USOE SIS2000+ software; the others use PowerSchool, RenWeb, and Compass.

 
SIS2000+ Overview

SIS2000+ consists of:

  • FoxPro software that is accessible from a remote terminal server. The system administrator and a limited number of school personnel have access to this software. It is used for enrollment, scheduling, food services, behavior, and other miscellaneous modules. USOE manages our Foxpro applications for us, whereas stand-alone districts must do this themselves.
  • WebSIS software that is accessible by students, parents, faculty, and other school personnel. It is used primarily for accessing attendance and grades.

SIS2000+ Export Data to a File

 

Process for exporting Student Directory information for import into Excel. Once it is in Excel, you can sort, filter, manipulate the data for a variety of uses. For example, you can create email distribution lists.

There are approximately 20 FoxPro reports that can be exported to a file. Here is a list. And here is a spreadsheet of all the data items available for export.

 
SIS2000+ New Year Initialization Steps Get a jump on the next academic year. You can define your calendar and begin enrolling students for next year long before the current year is over. (2/18/09)

SIS2000+ Documentation

I recommend printing these documents out and compiling a large notebook for reference.

 

There are several types of documentation available from this webpage.

  • Videos & Quick Guides - Many recently documented procedures, including end of year progression.
  • Training Excercises - For modules; from original documentation.
  • Module Overviews - FoxPro and WebSIS modules
  • Module Details - Original documents with exercises to explain modules. Although not updated, about 90% of the information is still accurate and worth reading. Very detailed. To print these long documents out, select all the text and then print selection.
SIS2000+ Contacts (new 8/2010)

 

Nebo School District has some great documentation and videos to help explain the new student Contact module in WebSIS. This is also reached from the FoxPro Student Enrollment screen. The materials also show parents how to access grades and attendance information for their students.
