Charters use
a variety of SIS software.
The majority use the USOE
SIS2000+ software; the
others use PowerSchool,
RenWeb, and Compass.
Regardless
of which SIS you use to
manage the daily student
information of attendance,
course scheduling, grades,
etc, a subset of the data
is collected by USOE for
longitudinal data analysis
and
reporting. As of 2005,
student
information is connected
by the State Student
Identifier (SSID).
Three
times per year SIS data
is verified via the Clearinghouse process.
After it is clean, it
is loaded into the USOE
Data Warehouse.
Standardized test data
is also loaded into
the warehouse at different
times of the year.
Until August 2009, a
subset
of
the
warehouse
data was given to schools
on what was called
the Enhanced
Research Disk.
I
have the Enhanced Research
Disks (Access files) since
the 2003-04 school year
for all charters that signed
a permission slip. I use
this data to generate reports
for charters.
In
August 2008, school data
was also released in a
new
format known as SERF.
By August 2009 it is the
only format of data released.
I have SERF data for all
charters that signed a
permission
slip for me to access
their Move-IT folder where
this data is released.
I
created an Excel document
for each LEA (charter)
from
their SERF data. The
file contains all the
CRT scores for students
from Spring 2009. Click
here for
documentation on
the columns of data
and how to auto-filter
to quickly analyze the
data for different teachers
at your school. (New
