If there were no Ames Seniors:

-There wouldn't have been anyone to help set up tables the first week of school
-Dr. Al's food drawer would always be stocked
-And the Satellite Newspaper might as well have been written on toilet paper

Because we're in Ames, graduation is less of a celebration and more of an accomplishment. We didn't just sit around and wade out high school. We were active students willing to work for our education and succeeded in getting it. Whether we learned it from a 10 inch thick Art History book, or an openly opinionated English teacher, we have all been taught how our education affects the way we view the world around us. How many people started noticing architecture a lot more since taking Art History? How many have watched a bouncy ball and knew a calculus equation about the angles and height? That is why we have been called Ames Nerds. We aren't afraid to use our education... or TI-83s. As "nerds", it is our responsibility to use our education and make something of it. There are so many doors out there to open, and Ames has already opened some. Remember, it's not what you know, but who you know that counts. Since we all know Al, we basically know everyone there is to know.

Ames really has done more for us than we know. We probably won't realize how much it's helped until we're old and grown and getting our own kids through school. It's put us outside our comfort zones and made us realize who we are. Thanks to Ames, we have proven our limits to ourselves, and are a lot more effective as students.

I'd like to end this year with the same quote we started with;

"Come to the edge," he said.
"We're afraid," we said.
"Come to the edge," he said.
"We're afraid," we said.
"Come to the edge," he said.
We came...He pushed us...We flew.
